Surf City Pediatrics Home

Welcome to Surf City!

A few special messages from Surf City Pediatrics

On October 4th, 2023 the office will be closed for EHR training. As our team learns and adjusts to the new enhanced EHR system certain aspects of your patient experience may take more time than expected. However, we continue to be committed to providing high quality care for your child. Please keep in mind our exchange is available for URGENT issues and the CHOC nurse is available for any medical advice at 1-844-GET-CHOC. You may also choose to take your child to an urgent care facility.

Here are some helpful updates and tips:

  • Appointments: Our staff will need additional time with you at your next appointment to verify and update your child's patient information. Please allow additional time for these updates and we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
  • While our team is learning EHR, we will temporarily have less appointments available. We ask that you kindly wait to schedule non-urgent appointments for a few weeks.

SURF CITY PEDIATRICS performs Telemedicine appointments, we wanted to post some specific medical conditions that we feel are appropriate and convenient for the use of Telemedicine in lieu of an in-office visit.

  1. All fever with respiratory symptoms will be triaged initially by phone. Depending on severity, a Telemedicine appointment with one of our providers to screen for possible COVID-19 symptoms will be provided.
  2. Developmental questions (such as feeding, sleeping, developmental concerns)
  3. Behavioral/Mental Health/Learning Difficulties
  4. Dietary counseling
  5. Acne
  6. Medical refills/med checks (ADHD, acne, asthma)
  7. Laboratory results/counseling
  8. Minor colds and some rashes, such as eczema
  9. Brief vomiting and/or diarrhea symptoms
  10. Constipation management
  11. ANY OTHER parental concerns/counseling

Note: Telemedicine is a billable service subject to co-pays and/or deductibles due at time of service.

Please be aware that Surf City Pediatrics, as well the American Academy of Pediatrics, strongly recommends that ALL CHILDREN CONTINUE THEIR WELL-CHILD PHYSICALS AND NOT HAVE THEIR VACCINATIONS DELAYED. This is especially true for infants and toddlers.

Please call our office for any questions you may have about using Telemedicine or any other medical concerns you may have about your child. You can reach us at (714) 842-0444. Thank you!

2023-2024 Influenza Vaccine

Our Recommendations

2023-2024 Flu Vaccines and have arrived...

While COVID-19 symptoms and flu symptoms can be similar, these two illnesses are caused by different viruses. So, that means that a flu shot cannot help protect you against COVID-19, nor can COVID-19 vaccines protect you against flu. With flu season approaching, it's more important than ever to get an annual flu vaccination and we want you to feel comfortable doing so. This is why we have changed our policy to appointment only flu vaccine days. Please call the office to schedule your appointment.

*Weekday appointments available Tues-Thurs.for vaccine only.

Please contact the office for availability (714) 842-0444
